Siberian education
SYNOPSIS
In the cold heart of South Russia there is a city beyond the law, a ghetto of outlaw gangs and desperate criminals. In this wasteland two loyal best friends grow up in the most fearsome gang of them all. The brutal, exiled Siberians provide them an education in the illegitimate and they become masters in theft, weapons and crime. This new family and their concrete code of honour are their lives but as time passes and the boys become men, the world around them seismically changes. Only their oligarch of a leader, Grandfather Kuzja (John Malkovich), can hold things together. But his grip on power is loosening and the two best friends find their allegiance bending as life, law and loyalty catches up to them like a bullet.
