Penny Pincher!

Starring one of France’s biggest box office draws, Dany Boon (‘Welcome to the Sticks’), Penny Pincher tells the story of talented first violinist, François Gautier, 40ish, who has one major flaw: he’s a penny
pincher. He times himself under the shower. He uses the streetlights to light the rooms of his house. He watches the neighbour’s TV through binoculars.

François has no social life; his only friend is his bank manager. Buying drinks for others in the orchestra is painful. Taking a woman on a date is torture. But new cellist Valérie doesn’t see François the penny pincher, she hears - and falls for - François the virtuoso violinist. And then Laura, 16, walks into François’s life and announces she is his daughter. She thinks her father is the wealthy benefactor of a children’s charity in Mexico.

Now François has one major flaw and two major problems: Valérie and Laura both love him for what he is not. Refusing to change his ways, François plays along but a single slipup could cost him very, very dear...

47 Metres Down

Fun-loving, twenty-something, sisters Kate and Lisa are ready for the holiday of a lifetime in Mexico. When the opportunity to go cage diving to view Great White sharks presents itself, thrill-seeking Kate jumps at the chance while Lisa takes some convincing. After some not so gentle persuading, Lisa finally agrees and the girls soon find themselves two hours off the coast of Huatulco and about to come face-to-face with nature's fiercest predator.

But what should have been the trip to end all trips soon becomes a living nightmare when the cage breaks free from the boat and plummets to the ocean floor. Kate and Lisa find themselves trapped deep underwater with less than an hour of oxygen left in their tanks. They must somehow work out how to get back to the safety of the boat above through 47 metres of shark-infested waters.

In Between

Director Maysaloun Hamoud’s remarkable debut feature, In Between, is an energetic drama about three strong young Palestinian-Israeli women, sharing a flat in Tel Aviv.

Existing flatmates Leila, a party animal and lawyer from a secular Muslim family, and Salma, a DJ who has yet to come out as a lesbian to her Christian family, are joined by Nour, a conservative Muslim recently moved from to the city. The three outsiders form a strong friendship, supporting each other as they navigate the changing views on womanhood in a
traditionally conservative society.

Assured and vibrant, In Between is a first-of-its-kind portrait of the unbearable daily duality of contemporary Israeli women, caught in between their hometown traditions and the modern values of a big city.
